Rustam Minnikhanov: The Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the main commercial partners of Tatarstan

The Republic of Tatarstan and Kazakhstan are united by long-standing partnership relations. “Kazakhstan is one of the main commercial partners of Tatarstan, last year goods turnover between republics made 900 mln US dollars,” President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov informed at IX forum of interregional cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Russian Federation.

The forum was held at the “House of Friendship” in Pavlodar (the Republic of Kazakhstan). President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev participated in the event.

Speaking about cooperation in the sphere of innovations and industry between the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazakhstan, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that it is realized in the engineering industry, first of all.

In particular, for OJSC KAMAZ Kazakhstan is the second-largest sales market after Russia. 3 000 vehicles were delivered to Kazakhstan in 2011.

As for new joint projects, Rustam Minnikhanov mentioned the project of MVEN company (Kazan) in Karaganda region. The company focuses on development and production of dual-use aviation equipment; assembly of light agricultural aircrafts was launched in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan specialists undergo training in Tatarstan. Besides, specialists of the Tatarstan company “KER-holding” work at power engineering facilities in Kazakhstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan maintains close relations with Kazakhstan regions. Thus, this year a very efficient mission was organised in Aktyubinsk region, and the Tatar national holiday “Sabantui” was held in Kazakhstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov thanked President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev for support rendered in organisation of the holiday.

Rustam Minnikhanov said that very useful meetings were held within the framework of IX forum of interregional cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Russian Federation.
