Rustam Minnikhanov: “We should develop mutual understanding with federal center and municipalities”

Mutual understanding of a subject’s leadership with federal and municipal authorities is one of the main conditions of successful development of the Russian regions. Such opinion was expressed today by the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at a business lunch of “Sberbank” within the framework of XI International investment forum "Sochi-2012".
Competitiveness of the Russian regions was discussed at the traditional business lunch this year. Members of the RF Government, heads of subjects, representatives of business and expert society took part in the discussion. The moderator was president and board chairman of OAO Sberbank German Gref.
The Russian Premier Dmitry Kozak, Dr. Ichak Kalderon Adizes spoke at the event. The Russian Minister of communications Nikolai Nikiforov noted that the use of modern technologies of communication and interaction between power and citizens is becoming new factor of competitiveness.
The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov answered the question of German Gref regarding secrets of the region’s success. Head of republic believes that mutual understanding is the basis of successful work.
Speaking about experience of interaction with the federal center, Rustam Minnikhanov said that republican leadership works in accordance with existing rules.
“We should work in accordance with existing rules, even if they are not always perfect. We also follow these rules, participate in different programs under the conditions of co-funding with the federal center. It makes us move forward,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Rustam Minnikhanov considers support of education to be an important step in regional development.
On 9 June upon his arrival to the Kazan International Airport, the Russian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov was welcomed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.
In Kazan Sergey Lavrov will take part in a meeting of the Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs of State-Participants of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
On 5 May, speaking at a regular meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin informed that currently 63 school catering units are under repairs with the amount of work completed reaching 15 per cent.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
