On September 24, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic on the Day of Trade Unions of Tatarstan.
“Dear residents of Tatarstan! Today is the Day of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan. Trade unions are historically the first mass public association that includes the most active part of the civil society. Unions are in demand by life itself. Every year the standing of trade unions in society, their influence on the solution of issues in the field of social and labour relations are growing.
Representing and protecting the rights and interests of working people, performing intermediary functions between employees and employers, workers and the Government of the republic, trade unions have shown to be a constructive and responsible force, which has a great influence in making key decisions, the opinion and position of which our republic always respects.
The Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan is an active participant and in many respects a locomotive of transformations in the social and labour sphere. Today, trade unions are doing a lot of work to introduce modern mechanisms for assessing working conditions, ensuring safe and normal working conditions at workplaces, improving the wage system for workers, raising its minimum level and other social guarantees for workers and their families.
On my own behalf and on behalf of the Government of the republic, I want to wish all participants of the trade union movement of Tatarstan good health, further constructive and high-quality joint work that brings tangible results, dynamic development and the preservation of all positive traditions.
Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin”.
