Mintimer Shaimiev: “The world is big, objects are different, rules of their preservation are common for all”

Tatarstan’s State Counselor, Chairman of the Guardian Council of the Republican Foundation for revival of historical and cultural monuments Mintimer Shaimiev and ICOMOS experts have visited island town Sviyazhsk.
On October 2 ICOMOS experts from Hungary Mr Visy Zsolt and Mr Gergely Nagy visited ancient city of Bolgar.
Today the first object they visited was the Trinity church. Hegumen Siluan, abbot of Holy Dormition Monastery of Sviyazhsk told about history of the church.
“Before restoration works objects undergo special investigation. Restoration of the church is nearly completed. Historians, churchmen, specialists from Moscow are involved in restoration work,” Aide to the Tatarstan President on social issues, CEO of the Republican Foundation for revival of historical and cultural monuments Tatyana Larionova said.
Sviyazhsk expert, President of ICOMOS Hungarian national committee, professor, doctor of architecture Mr Gergely Nagy examined architectural monuments and asked questions about restoration methods.
Guests also visited the Church “Consolation of All Who Sorrow”, Sergiev Church, the Dormition Monastery and brethren's building, the monument of federal significance (XVII-XVIII centuries).
Experts were especially interested in the Dormition Church of the 16th century with fragments of unique frescos of the middle of the 16th century.
Finally, guests visited the Stable yard.
“Enormous work has been done for two years. Upon conducting restoration works we took into account requirements of the UNESCO World heritage Committee. We do our best to make these objects internationally recognized,” Mintimer Shaimiev said.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
