Turkish producers of automotive components invited to Tatarstan

Turkey-Tatarstan Business Forum on cooperation in the field of automotive industry and automotive components production took place in the city of Bursa, Turkey. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the event.
200 businessmen from Tatarstan and Turkey representing 20 Tatarstan enterprises (OJSC KAMAZ, JE “Ford-Sollers”, OAO “PO ElAZ”, OAO “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding”, SEZ Alabuga) and 50 Turkish companies (Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association, Bursa Industry and Business Association) take part in the forum.
Tatarstan businessmen have visited plants “Martur” (production of automotive seats), Coşkunöz (stamping and assembly of metal automotive body parts), technical industrial school of the Exporters' Association.
Officials of the Turkish and Tatarstan companies delivered speeches at a plenary session.
Chairman of Uludağ Automotive Industry Exporters' Association Orhan Sabuncu said that Turkey is one of the world’s and Europe’s largest exporters of vehicles and automotive parts.
Director General of OAO “Special economic zones” Oleg Kostin told about the system of SEZ in Russia noting that the SEZ Alabuga located in Tatarstan is the most successful. Active support of the Tatarstan leadership helps solving all problems of resident companies in time and guarantees success of the SEZ Alabuga.
Director General of OJSC KAMAZ Sergei Kogogin told about Russia’s biggest truck producer. 47 thousand vehicles are to be produced at the enterprise in 2012. Sergei Kogogin stressed that automotive companies willing to keep competitiveness in the modern world need globalization.
“Ford-Sollers” CEO Adil Shirinov told about plans on establishing production of Ford automobiles and engines in Tatarstan. He informed that the joint enterprise “Ford-Sollers” is taking major efforts in the field of localization of automotive parts and putting high hopes on Turkish companies.
Director General of OAO “Tatneftekhiminvest-holding” Rafinat Yarullin told about opportunities of the Tatarstan petrochemical complex in the production of polymers, an essential material for automotive production.
Director General of SEZ Alabuga Timur Shagivaleev presented opportunities of the special economic zone to Turkish businessmen.
Acting Minister of economy Mustafa Sever informed about economic development of Turkey and noted the importance of developing foreign economic relations. He hopes that the forum will favour consolidation of friendly and business ties between Tatarstan and Turkey.
The Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that such meetings had become a heart-warming tradition. He thanked the Turkish Minister of economy, Governor of Bursa, organisers and participants of the forum. “Support of the Turkish leadership that pays much attention to development of relationships with Tatarstan is very important for us,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He invited Turkish producers of automotive parts to Tatarstan.
The Tatarstan President offered holding next forum in Naberezhnye Chelny in spring of 2013 and invited Turkish entrepreneurs and governor of Bursa Orhan Sabuncu.
Within the framework of plenary session the agreement was signed between “Coşkunöz-holding” and “Ford-Sollers”.
“Ford-Sollers” CEO Adil Shirinov and Director General of “Coşkunöz-holding” Cenk Yoney out their signatures on the document. Besides, Cenk Yoney and Director General of OJSC KAMAZ Sergei Kogogin signed Protocol of intentions.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
