Tatarstan leadership will continue helping students to solve their urgent problems, however, students should also take an active part, the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said at the 7th congress of Tatarstan students.

Congress of republican students is the highest governing body of the Student League of the Republic of Tatarstan. Activists of Tatarstan’s student organisations meet once in two years to discuss urgent problems and offer solutions. This year the congress will last for two days and will include round tables, workshops and plenary sessions.

At today’s plenary session activists told about results of work for the last two years and identified problems to be solved.

President of the RT Student League Timur Suleimanov informed that 40 thousand people had participated in different events organised by the Student League.

The most important are grant competition among student self-government bodies, and the festival “Student spring of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

Students told about such problems as lack of hostels and good public catering places at some higher educational institutions. The Tatarstan President expressed concern over problems the students described.

“We should decide how to solve these problems together,” the Tatarstan President said. He noted that winning of the right to host World summer Universiade considerably contributed to improvement of students’ living conditions. Moreover, construction of Universiade Village brought positive changes to students’ life.

Finally, the Tatarstan President thanked the Student League for energetic efforts and noted the growing level of projects’ development. He also handed letters of gratitude to activists of republican student movements.
