President of Tatarstan opens new swimming pool in Novosheshminsk

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has opened indoor swimming pool “Zhemchuzina” (“Pearl”) in the town of Novosheshminsk. Director General of OJSC Tatneft Shafagat Takhautdinov participated in a solemn ceremony.
The swimming pool has been constructed for about one year at the expense of the republican budget and OJSC Tatneft funds. The building with total area of 1700 m² is located close to the sports complex “Olymp” and includes 25-meter main pool, children’s pool, sauna, massage parlour, beauty salon, billiard, and a snack bar.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted great contribution Tatneft company made to construction of the swimming pool. He mentioned that the largest gymnastics complex in Russia had been opened in Kazan the day before.
“I believe that national heath is a priority task.Young people and adults should take care of their health,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. He noted that development of mass sport yields good results. In particular, natural population growth and increase of life expectancy have been recently observed in republic.
President of Tatarstan presented the certificate for 100 thousand roubles to purchase equipment to the director of the swimming pool.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
