Session of Russian-Czech intergovernmental commission held in Kazan

The 8th plenary session of Intergovernmental commission for economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Czech Republic was held in Kazan. The session was chaired by the Russian Minister of regional development Igor Slyunyaev. Czech Minister of industry and trade Martin Cuba and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the event.
The Intergovernmental commission was established in 2005. Its main task is preparation of proposals and decisions aimed at development of bilateral trade and economic relations between Russia and the Czech Republic. Another important area is development of interregional cooperation between the two countries.
Before the session Rustam Minnikhanov told the Russian Minister of regional development Igor Slyunyaev about the projects of social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan.
During bilateral meeting between the Russian Minister of regional development and Czech Minister of industry and trade Martin Cuba thanked the Russian Minister of regional development and the Tatarstan President for organisation of the session and invitation to visit Kazan. He mentioned that the Czech Republic had consolidated the position as one of the most important foreign trade partners of Russia.
Igor Slyunyaev noted the positive tendency in expansion of the interregional cooperation. He expressed hope for the constructive dialogue within the framework of the session.
Czech Minister of industry and trade Martin Cuba thanked the Russian party for fruitful work within a framework of the Commission. He informed that Czech companies were interested in expanding mutual cooperation with Russian partners.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the audience and wished successful work during the session.
Igor Slyunyaev and Martin Cuba signed the protocol of the session and the list of joint projects to be realised. The Tatarstan Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov and Board Chairman of the Czech company “Mitas” Tomáš Němec signed the memorandum of joint cooperation in organisation of the industrial production of big radial tires for agricultural needs.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
