Cooperation Agreement signed between the Republic of Tatarstan and Arkhangelsk region

The Agreement on trade-economic, scientific-technical, and social-cultural cooperation has been signed between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Arkhangelsk region. The document was signed by the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov. The signing ceremony took place at the Kazan Kremlin.
To the point, delegation of the Arkhangelsk region led by Igor Orlov is on a working trip in the Tatarstan capital (December 5-7).
Before the ceremony Rustam Minnikhanov had met with members of the delegation. The Tatarstan President expressed confidence that the current visit would help Arkhangelsk colleagues to get acquainted with Tatarstan’s projects in different economic sectors.
He briefly told about preliminary results of republic’s economic and social development in 2012.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan was ready to share the experience in the sphere of social projects, namely capital repair of comprehensive schools, construction of village clubs, medical and obstetrical stations in rural areas, the program “Clean water”, and projects in the sphere of road construction.
President of Tatarstan also told about development of chemical and petrochemical industries, modernization of old plants and construction of new ones, including “Ammonia” project. He called the special economic zone “Alabuga” the growing point of the republican economy.
Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov said that the Arkhangelsk region and the Republic of Tatarstan had good reasons to maintain kind and mutually relationships. “We are interested in Tatarstan’s experience in the sphere of innovations,” he said.
Igor Orlov also noted that particular emphasis should be put on interaction between Arkhangelsk and Tatarstan universities and cooperation in the scientific sphere.
Main projects being realized in the Arkhangelsk region are exploitation of basalt and bauxite, diamond recovery, construction of new railway branch Urals- Komi - the Arkhangelsk region and development of shipbuilding cluster.
Governor of the Arkhangelsk region said that that northern territory had rich cultural heritage.
Chairman of the regional Tatar national and cultural autonomy of the Arkhangelsk region Rim Kalimullin informed that 7 000 Tatars lived in the region, 3 000 – in Arkhangelsk.
Rim Kalimullin thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for help in organization of the excursion around Kazan for 15 children from the boarding school and low-income families. He invited President of Tatarstan to visit the Arkhangelsk region.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Igor Orlov also discussed organization of direct flight connection between Kazan and Arkhangelsk.
Finally, the parties agreed on signing the plan of actions on realization of the Cooperation agreement between Tatarstan and the Arkhangelsk region during the working trip of the Tatarstan delegation to the region.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
