Rustam Minnikhanov: “Economic results of 2012 are quite successful”

At a final session of the Tatarstan Ministry of economy and Ministry of industry and trade President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Tatarstan economic results of 2012 demonstrate successful development of republic. At the same time, the republican economy faces new challenges, in particular, we need to increase labour productivity.”
Russian Deputy Minister of economic development Oleg Saveliev, Deputy Minister of industry and trade Gleb Nikitin, Chairman of the RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin participated in the event.
President of Tatarstan announced main figures of Tatarstan’s economic development according to results of 2012. Thus, GRP has increased by 5,5 per cent, and made 1,415 trillion rubles. Industrial output has increased by 7 per cent, manufacturing of oil products – by 26 per cent, engineering produce- by 27 per cent, metallurgical produce - by 26 per cent, production of rubber and plastic goods – by 11 per cent.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that among Russian regions republic took 5th place by GRP, 6th place – by industrial output, 4th place – by amount of capital investments, and 3d place – by agricultural output.
“Our great achievement is seen in positive demographic situation. In 2012 by 5100 children more were born in republic. The duration of life continues to increase. Average salary made 23240 rubles. Today we would like to summarize results of 2012, discuss issues of competitive recovery of economy and labour productivity,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan Minister of economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov presented main figures of economic development. The increase of GRP by 5,5 per cent was provided by increase of industrial output, investment, construction and consumer activities. He said that development of manufacturing activity is very important since it ensures stability in crisis times.
Midkhat Shagiakhmetov continued that increase of labour productivity is essential. The real wage has increased by 11 per cent in Tatarstan, whereas labour productivity made 6,4 per cent.
Moreover, Tatarstan Minister of economy focused on new conditions of Russia’s membership in WTO and noted that republican economy requires adaptation.
Tatarstan Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov reported on measures taken for increasing labour productivity in republic. He also presented data on development of major industries of the republican economy. In particular, petrochemical output increased by 9 per cent and made 865 billion rubles. Capital investments of major enterprises made 84 billion rubles. As for energy sector, the output accounted for 68 billion rubles. The output of engineering and defence enterprises made 294 billion rubles.
Russian Deputy Minister of industry and trade Gleb Nikitin congratulated Tatarstan leadership on impressive achievements in the sphere of industrial production. He supposes that cooperation with many regions and federal authorities plays a considerable role in Tatarstan’s achievements.
Gleb Nikitin informed that Russian Ministry of industry and trade determined three priority spheres of Russian industry development: production of new materials, application of digital and computer technologies, machine-tool building.
Russian Deputy Minister of economic development Oleg Saveliev said that Russia’s joining the WTO is a serious challenge for Russian economy. Two agreements were signed after the session. The cooperation agreement between Tatarstan Government and OAO “Sberbank of Russia” within the framework of program “Increase of labour productivity at Tatarstan engineering and petrochemical enterprises for 2013-2016” was signed by Sberbank Vice-president Sergei Borisov and Tatarstan Minister of economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.
The cooperation agreement between Tatarstan Government and OAO “Chelyabinsk pipe plant” was signed by Tatarstan Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov and Board chairman of OAO “Chelyabinsk pipe plant” Sergei Federov.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
