President of Tatarstan meets with Minister of foreign trade of United Arab Emirates

A working visit of the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to the United Arab Emirates started in Abu Dhabi. As a member of the Russian delegation Rustam Minnikhanov met with Minister of foreign trade of the United Arab Emirates Sheikha Lubna Khalid al Qasimi.
The Russian delegation is led by Minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov. Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the United Arab Emirates Andrey Andreev, Director General of OAO “Ak Bars Holding” Ivan Egorov, Aide to the RT President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov participated in the meeting.
Before the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov had a conversation with Sheikha Lubna. President of Tatarstan invited Minister of foreign trade of the United Arab Emirates to visit republic and attend the KAZANSUMMIT in May 2013. Sheikha Lubna Khalid al Qasimi accepted the invitation.
Sheikha Lubna thanked members of the Russian delegation for the visit. Denis Manturov, in his turn, thanked Sheikha Lubna for attention paid to relationships between Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
Denis Manturov and Sheikha Lubna Khalid al Qasimi came to conclusion that the level of trade and economic relations between Russia and the United Arab Emirates required development.
“We have got great potential for cooperation. As the Co-chairman of the Russian-Emirates intergovernmental commission, I will deal with development of our trade and economic relations,” Denis Manturov said.
According to the Russian Minister of industry and trade, traditional areas of cooperation between Russia and the United Arab Emirates are oil and gas sector, and engineering industry. One more prospective sphere is joint study of alternative energy sources.
Denis Manturov invited Sheikha Lubna to participate in St. Petersburg international investment forum.
Sheikha Lubna Khalid al Qasimi wished members of the Russian delegation successful session of the Russian-Emirates intergovernmental commission and added that it would favour expansion of cooperation between Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
