Construction of school for children of foreign specialists launched in Elabuga

Solemn foundation stone laying ceremony of the school for children of foreign specialists of Special Economic Zone “Alabuga” was held in Elabuga. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the ceremony.
The international school called “Three bears” will be the first educational institution of this kind in Volga region. Instruction will be conducted by native speakers under a universal program “International Baccalaureate”.
IB diplomas are recognised by top higher educational institutions around the world. Students will also be able to receive Russian certificates.
The school infrastructure will meet best international standards and include a medical room, and a sports complex. Moreover, a kindergarten for children of pre-school age and a boarding school for 40 students will be constructed on its territory.
At the first stage 100 pupils will be taught at the school. All in all, 350 students will be able to study there afterwards. Lessons will start on September 1, 2014.
Rustam Minnikhanov said: “The international school is an important condition for developing Kama industrial cluster which includes Elabuga, Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk. Thousands of people from the near and the far abroad arrive in republic every year. Large modern enterprises which need educated people are opening.”
The school will be a part of “Three bears” social infrastructure for employees of SEZ “Alabuga”. The complex of objects will include a cottage settlement for top managers, a multi-storied house for specialists, and a comfortable modern sports complex.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
