Results of first stage of research under the project “Development strategy of the Republic of Tatarstan till 2030” presented to Rustam Minnikhanov

Specialists of the International Centre for Social and Economic Research “Leontief centre” (St.Petersburg) presented brief report “Development strategy of the Republic of Tatarstan till 2030” to President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Director General of ZAO “International Centre for Social and Economic Research “Leontief centre” Irina Karelina said that their work in republic was a challenge for specialists since it is a highly developed region and best practices of foreign countries are intensively studied and used here.
The following reports were made during the presentation: “Global competitiveness of the Republic of Tatarstan”, “Man. Society. State”, “Rural areas”, “Transport and communication environment”, “The management system of Tatarstan’s future”, plan and schedules of further work under the project.
Experts of “Leontief centre” told about global trends such as globalization, active migration of population, leading positions of countries of the Asia-Pacific Region, global growth of the middle class, increase in demand for food, water and energy.
To the point, it was firstly announced about the project “Development strategy of the Republic of Tatarstan till 2030” in July 2012 at a session of Tatarstan State Council Committee for economy, investments and entrepreneurship. In general, the project is to be implemented in three stages (research stage, organisation and analytical stage, development and public discussion).
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov positively estimated work of experts under the project. He said that the project “Development strategy of the Republic of Tatarstan till 2030” is very important as it determines priority areas for Tatarstan’s further development.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked experts and noted that Tatarstan specialists would continue studying best practices of social and economic development of certain countries, in particular, Malaysia and Singapore.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
