8 March 2013, Friday

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated women on the International Women’s Day – the 8th of March.

“Dear women! I congratulate you on first, long-expected spring holiday - the International Women’s Day! This day nature welcomes woman, its most perfect creature. Women comprise the whole world; there is a place for love, beauty, motherly feelings, and care for family and friends.

The word “mother” has a sacred meaning for all of us. Due to great power of maternity woman gives to the whole human race immortality expressed in our children and grandchildren. With mother’s milk we take love to native language, and our Motherland. Thank you for your warm hearts and loving hands.

We feel deep respect to representatives of heroic war generation. They were fighting at the front of Great Patriotic War, selflessly worked on the home front, at factories, fields, raised our destroyed state from the ruins. Infinite gratitude for your heroic deed will always stay in our hearts!

By keeping intergenerational continuity, modern women comprise traditional family and individual business qualities. Today women enjoy all necessary conditions for personal, professional and creative self-realisation. Our women work in different spheres and take an active part in public life. Always and everywhere they show a perfect example of responsible attitude to work, creativity, and professional skills.

In a few months XXVII World summer Universiade in Kazan will open a new page of national and global sport. We put high hopes on our sportswomen whose splendid wins increase fame of our native republic.

You are the priceless heritage of Tatarstan, our pride and inexhaustible source of inspiration! Let this wonderful bright holiday, which comes with first beams of warm spring sun, give you happy smiles, and care of your family and friends!

I wish you peace, health, love and wellbeing!

President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.”
