Rustam Minnikhanov: "Kamskoe Ustie region has high potential for development"

At a session of the municipal Council of Kamskoe Ustie region President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that agriculture, small and medium-size business, and tourism are priority industries of region’s economy.
The produce of local enterprises was presented to Rustam Minnikhanov at regional house of culture. Later on the same day President of Tatarstan participated in session of the local Council.
Head of the region Zufar Garafiev reported on social and economic development in 2012. He said that region’s economy was developing quite successfully. 60 per cent of industrial output fell to gypsum mine. By the way, new production that is to be launched at “Fonika-Gips” plant in the middle of 2013 will become the largest enterprise in the region. Investments will account for 5 bln rubles.
For January 1 304 small and medium-size business entities have been registered in Kamskoe Ustie region.
Zufar Garafiev also noted high tourism potential of the region.
9.7 thousand m² of housing was commissioned in 2012 in the region. 7 km of new roads were constructed. By and large, 200 mln rubles were invested into road construction.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov told about Tatarstan’s social and economic development in 2012. Speaking about agricultural industry, Rustam Minnikhanov said that results were not most successful. The agricultural output made 147 bln rubles (instead of planned 170-180 bln rubles), only 3 mln tons of crops were harvested.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, agricultural sector should be efficient under conditions of Russia’s joining the WTO.
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that Kamskoe Ustie region used opportunities of the program on providing housing for veterans not in full. Only one third of 343 veterans purchased new housing. At the same time, the “Clean water” program was implemented very efficiently.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that agriculture remained one of priority sectors for Kamskoe Ustie. Consideration should be given to development of small and medium-size business and tourism.
Rustam Minnikhanov also participated in ceremony of signing agreement on cooperation between Kamskoe Ustie region and Kazan Federal University.
On 12 January, congratulating employees of the prosecutor’s office with their professional holiday - Day of the employee of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation- Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin wrote in his address:
“For more than three centuries the prosecutor's office has been the guardian of state and public security as well as constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens of our country.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatutllin informed that in the current year the Ministry will take part in implementation of five national projects and three state programmes with planned construction and capital overhaul of 172 facilities for the total sum of 17bn rubles.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov informed that it is expected to achieve a comparable growth of produce of 1.5%, including that in food production - at least 2.6% in the agricultural sector.
On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
