Rustam Minnikhanov: The image of future engineer should be built up from school days

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with teaching staff of Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University. Acting rector of the university Albert Gilmutdinov, Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, heads of major industrial enterprises participated in the event.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University is the leading higher educational institution in republic, as well as Kazan Federal University and Kazan National Research Technological University. He continued that those who choose engineering professions must have high level knowledge, and the same concerns level of teaching.
Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Today Tatarstan’s key economic sectors are oil processing and petrochemistry, and engineering. These spheres require highly skilled specialists. We want our students to receive professional qualifications at best higher educational institutions in our country and abroad.”
President of Tatarstan promised to promote interests of the university at all levels.
Acting rector of Kazan National Research Technical University told about four new projects. The first one is establishment of German-Russian institute of new technologies in cooperation with DAAD and Russian Government. The second is foundation of Higher school of innovative business in liaison with Higher School of Economy (Moscow). Establishment of the branch of European Pilot Academy may become the third project. And the last project presented by Albert Gilmutdinov is technology park “KAI-park”.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
On 28 February, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Director of the Fund “The Institute of Development of Tatarstan Cities” Nailya Nagumanova informed about preparation to the implementation of the Our Yard programme in the republic.
