Ilsur Metshin: 2012 was successful for Kazan by almost all main parameters

At a summary session of the Kazan City Duma concerning results of social and economic development in 2012 and setting tasks for 2013 Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin said that 2012 was successful for Kazan by almost all main parameters.
The session was held at the Kazan City Hall. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the event.
Ilsur Metshin said: “First of all, we should note steady development of economy, the basis of all opportunities. Physical volume of production exceeded 112 per cent, whereas Russian indices made 102, 6 percent. The following enterprises made most considerable contribution: “Kazanorgsintez”, “Kazan helicopters”, “Nefis Cosmetics”, “Voith Turbo Kazan.”
According to Ilsur Metshin, service and trade sector was rapidly developing. 26 new objects of consumer market were commissioned, 44 old ones were reconstructed. The demand for fitness centers and medicine has increased by half. Tourism turnover has increased by one third. Rise in average salary made 14 per cent (25950 rubles). 20 000 Kazan dwellers have income below the living wage.
“Main condition of city’s successful development is the growing flow of investments.185 bln rubles have been invested in Kazan development within one year. Undoubtedly, Universiade is main investment project. Preparation for this event brought 130 bln rubles of direct investments,” Mayor of Kazan said.
He continued that overall amount of taxes increased by one fourth and accounted for 86 bln rubles.
Issues on making amendments in decisions of the Kazan City Duma “Concerning budget of Kazan municipality for 2013 and planned period of 2014 and 2015”, “Concerning forecasted plan (programme) of privatization of Kazan municipal property for 2011 and prospects till 2013” were discussed afterwards.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
