Rustam Minnikhanov delivers welcoming speech at conference “Nawruz-the holiday of peace and humanism” in Ashkhabad

At the international conference “Nawruz-the holiday of peace and humanism” in Ashkhabad President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Tatarstan and Turkmenistan people are united by centuries-old friendship and commonness of culture that influenced traditional celebration of Nawruz holiday. The holiday is inspired with love for life and symbolizes revival of nature, triumph of the good.”
The conference was held in a big hall of Rukhyet Palace. Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov made keynote speech. UN Deputy Secretary General, leadership of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan participated in the event. Rustam Minnikhanov conveyed greetings to Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin and multinational people of Tatarstan, and congratulated on Nawruz holiday.
Rustam Minnikhanov said: “People from different countries and of different nations have gathered here today. We are united by strive for peace, creative work and joint actions for the good of all nations. Nawruz is one of the oldest holidays in the world. It is the holiday of renewal and hopes, the symbol of commitment to best traditions of wise ancestors and strive for spiritual commonness among nations. Humanistic idea is much more popular nowadays as we the world is rapidly developing. More and more people of different nations and confessions participate in Nawruz celebrations realizing ideas of the good and justice. It is important that Nawruz has become the international holiday. The holiday was included in UNESCO non-material heritage list in 2009.”
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Turkmenistan President and Turkmenistan people for organisation of celebrations and warm reception.
“Every visit to Turkmenistan for us is a symbol of expansion of relations, strengthening of friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia. We always visit Ashkhabad with great pleasure and are glad to hear about achievements of Turkmenistan people which obtained great success in social and economic development under the leadership of their President,” he said.
On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
On 3 January on the errand from the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety of the republic , held an urgent meeting of the Commission which discussed readiness of forces and means to ensure security during the New Year and Christmas holidays.
On 29 December, speaking at a briefing held in Tatarstan Government House on issues of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of road services and housing and communal services during the holidays, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin said that during the holidays special attention will be given to providing heat supply to apartment buildings.
On 24 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a charity action “The Christmas Tree of Wishes” held during the 17th session of the State Council of the republic of the seventh convocation.
The Head of the Government of the republic will fulfill wishes of five-year old Landysh who dreams of a guitar, 13-year old Zariva who will get a smart speaker, eight-year old Leyla dreaming of a bike and 16-year old Evelina who will be given an e-book.
