Dmitry Medvedev discusses readiness for spring field works with leadership of Russian regions

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev held a video conference meeting on issues of spring field works. Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov participated in the event.
Dmitry Medvedev said that abnormal weather in central and southern part of Russia provoked discussion of spring field works. For March 21, 330 thousand hectares of spring crops have been sowed in the South of Russia. By and large, spring sowing campaign is planned to be accomplished at the area of 51 mln hectares. The area of winter crops makes 16 mln hectares. Condition of 90 per cent of crops is estimated as good or satisfactory, agrarians are expecting quite good harvest.
137 bln rubles were allocated under the federal programme to support agricultural sector.
Dmitry Medvedev called heads of regions to pay special attention to protecting crops.
Total need for financing sowing campaign is estimated at 268 bln rubles, including 154 bln credit resources.
Dmitry Medvedev said: “As we are joining the WTO we must make all decisions connected with support of agricultural sector in compliance with rules.”
Dmitry Medvedev wished success to agrarians in their work. “Your work is very important for our country. Agricultural sector has become an essential factor of Russia’s development. Our agricultural industry has a great potential and should provide our country and export supplies with goods,” Prime Minister of Russia continued.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
