Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held All-Russia meeting concerning development of livestock sector in format of video conference. Chairman of Tatarstan Government Ildar Khalikov participated in the meeting.

Dmitry Medvedev noted that the increase of Gross Domestic Product is connected with development of agricultural sector.

Head of the Russian Government said that quite good results were achieved in livestock sector for the last few years. In particular, under the state programme aimed at development of agricultural sector 110 bln rubles have been allocated in 2008-2012to support livestock sector.

More than two thousand livestock breeding complexes have been built and reconstructed.

At the same time last year’s poor harvest led to increase in forage prices. Russia’s joining the WTO and establishment of Customs union resulted in pressure on domestic livestock market and decrease in prices.

Dmitry Medvedev asked regional authorities to inform about state of affairs and solutions found to support agriculture.

Speaking about federal support, Russian Prime Minister said that 60 bln rubles are to be allocated to support livestock sector.
