Thomson Reuters becomes information partner of “Smart City Kazan” project

On May 1 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov gave an interview to an authoritative international information agency Thomson Reuters and visited company’s office in Dubai.
The arrangement about the visit of Thomson Reuters officials to Tatarstan was reached during the presentation of Tatarstan economic potential in London in November 2012. At the end of January Thomson Reuters officials came to Kazan and held meetings with Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Ministry of Education and Science and leading higher educational institutions.
At today’s meeting in Dubai officials of Tatarstan and Thomson Reuters discussed issues of information cooperation.
Thomson Reuters was interested in cooperation in the sphere of product and financial markets, Islamic finances, intellectual property, science and education. The parties also discussed opening the company’s representative office in Tatarstan and signed agreement.
The company is willing to participate in development of business infrastructure and information services of “Smart City Kazan” project.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
