Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulates orthodox Christians on Easter holiday
5 May 2013, Sunday
On May 5 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated orthodox Christians on Easter holiday.
“Dear orthodox Christians! Let me congratulate you on the end of the Great Fast and the Easter Sunday! The Easter holiday has always symbolized belief, salvation, and revival for new, free life. It has traditionally carried inexhaustible love, mercy and absolution, made people more kind, pure and sympathetic.
These human values are especially important for Tatarstan, the place where Christians, Muslims, and representatives of other religions peacefully co-exist. Joint efforts on restoration of our spiritual and historical sacred places, the island town of Sviyazhsk and ancient town of Bolgar, guarantee strengthening of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional concord.
I am glad that we have such an opportunity to see and take part in such godly deeds.
Let your souls fill with energy of creation and spiritual self-improvement with lighting the sacred Easter flame! I wish you festive mood, happiness, health, peace and wellbeing!
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.”
