Tatarstan President meets with delegation of Islamic businessmen

On May 8 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with delegation of Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector in Kazan at Tatarstan Government House.
Aide to Tatarstan President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov, Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, Board Chairman of OAO “Ak Bars bank” Robert Minnegaliev took part in the event. Chairman of Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector Haled Al Abudi, officials of Turkish, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain companies are on the delegation.
The delegation of businessmen is visiting the republic in order to learn about investment opportunities.
Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic pays much attention to economic cooperation with Islamic world, including interaction with Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector.
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that in March Tatarstan delegation visited Saudi Arabia and took part in meetings with Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and President of Islamic Development Bank at which attraction of Islamic finances to Tatarstan were discussed. Last week Tatarstan presented exposition at economic forum in United Arab Emirates.
Tatarstan President briefly told about Tatarstan economy and opportunities provided for investors. He reminded as well that “Tatarstan international investment company”, and “Eurasian leasing company” had been established with participation of Islamic Development Bank.
Members of the delegation presented their companies and possible areas of cooperation with republic. Rustam Minnikhanov offered businessmen to meet with heads of foreign companies working in Tatarstan to ask about their opinion about republic.
Among perspective areas are food supply, attraction of Islamic finances, production of polymers.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
