Rustam Minnikhanov: “Preparation for 70th anniversary of Victory should become a matter of honour for each Tatarstan citizen”

On May 8 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a session of organizing committee on preparation for 70th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 at Tatarstan Government House.
Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, heads of ministries and agencies, employees of State Council, heads of municipalities and veterans of Great Patriotic War participated in the session. Tatarstan President noted that two years are left till celebration of 70th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War.
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that 103 thousand 879 veterans currently live in Tatarstan. He noted that within the last few years, material and social support of veterans had considerably improved, work on providing comprehensive medical services had been organized, veterans receive high technology medical aid.
238 veterans live in nursing homes. Therefore, Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that the Ministry of Labour and Social Services should make their living as comfortable as possible.
Veterans’ requests sent to government authorities require special consideration. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, 52 requests were received from veterans in first quarter of 2013. Most frequently asked questions concern improvement of living conditions, and housing and communal services.
Another important issue upon preparation for 70th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War is patriotic education of the youth.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
