Tatarstan President meets with Ambassador of Germany to Russia

On May 13 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Russia Ulrich Brandernburg at the Kazan Kremlin. Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov and Aide to Tatarstan President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov took part in the meeting.
Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that in September 2012 he addressed the Ambassador with request to open German visa centre in Kazan. “This event will happen today. We suppose it will favour strengthening of our relations, promotion of our projects, development of tourism, educational programmes and business,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President was satisfied with strengthening of cooperation between Tatarstan and Germany. Last year trade turnover between Tatarstan and Germany made 1,5 bln euro. The amount of investments from Germany makes 1,3 bln euro.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, cooperation between KAMAZ and Daimler is a perfect example.
Six German companies are registered at SEZ “Alabuga”. By and large, there are 71 enterprises with German investments work in Tatarstan. Siemens, Knorr-Bremse, ZF, Voith, Basf actively operate in republic. Tatarstan enterprises and banks established contacts with German banks. German retail networks are very popular in Tatarstan. “Ak Bars Aero” offers direct flights to Munich.
Rustam Minnikhanov continued that educational institutions had established good relations with German colleagues. Health industry is another important area of cooperation. He called for expanding cooperation in the sphere of medical institutions management.
Rustam Minnikhanov addressed German colleagues with request to support Bolgar and Sviyazhsk at forthcoming voting for inclusion in UNESCO World heritage List.
Possible participation of German companies in Innopolis and “Smart City Kazan” projects is another perspective area of cooperation.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Ulrich Brandernburg also discussed training of professional staff.
Ulrich Brandernburg asked about development of tourism in Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov said that Kazan, Bolgar and Sviyazhsk are becoming more attractive for tourists.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Ulrich Brandernburg for support of all joint projects.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
