Roman Shaykhutdinov takes part in a summing up meeting of the Innopolis City Council for 2021

On February 1, at the Popov Technopark, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Roman Shaykhutdinov, Head of Verkhniy Uslon region of the republic Marat Ziatdinov, Prosecutor of Verkhniy Uslon municipal region Vasily Egorov and people’s deputies of the city council and residents of Innopolis took part in a summing up meeting of the Innopolis City Council for 2021.

At the beginning of the meeting, Shaykhutdinov summed up the overall situation in Innopolis: “Important events of the past year were the establishment of a city council of seven people’s deputies, each representing one or another economic block of the city, and the start of construction of new facilities.

First, we are waiting for the commissioning of two large technoparks, since the areas of the Popov and Lobachevsky technoparka are almost 90 per cent occupied. It is important that the leadership of the republic continues to actively support Innopolis, which is not just a city, but an innovative centre, the distinctive advantage of which is an environment that not only attracts but also keeps talented IT specialists and new companies with interesting projects in the city.

Mayor of the Ruslan Shagaleev reported on the results of the activities of the municipal council of Innopolis in 2021. He listed the major events of 2021, which included the start of the construction of the Y-1 residential complex for more than 8,500 new residents and the highest in Tatarstan the average score, namely 83.9 points, of the Unified State Examination in mathematics among graduates of the Lyceum Innopolis. The mayor also reported on the tax payments to the consolidated budget of Tatarstan for 2021 - the amount of local and regional taxes amounted to 1.4 bl roubles.

The Mayor emphasized the achievements of the University of Innopolis and the Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The university ranked 12th in the Forbes ranking of the top 100 universities, and for the second year in a row the Innopolis SEZ was named the most efficient technology-innovative economic zone in Russia.

The city plans for 2022 include the opening of a private laboratory, the beginning of the design and construction of a school and a kindergarten, the complex greening, the reconstruction of Quantum Boulevard, the modernization of the city's video surveillance system and the development of a tourist destination.

In his speech, Ziatdinov emphasized that according to preliminary estimates, the gross territorial product of the Verkhniy Uslon region for 2021 amounted to 22 billion roubles, 60 per cent of which was generated by companies located in Innopolis.

At the end of the meeting, Shaykhutdinov instructed the Innopolis team to intensify work in the area of cash execution of the budget, increase the customer focus of trade institutions, to strengthen the teaching staff of general education school and plant greenery in the city. Tatarstan Prime Minister informed about the upcoming launch of a pilot legal regime for unmanned vehicles in Innopolis and invited the city’s team to consider launching similar regimes in other areas, for example, unmanned aerial vehicles, financial technologies and medical systems.
