On February 1, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin arrived on a working visit in the Zainsk region of the republic to take part in a meeting of the Council of the Zainsk municipal region on the results of social and economic development of the region in 2021 and tasks for 2022.
In his welcoming speech, Pesoshin emphasized that one of the most important tasks today is to increase the income of the population. Thus, in the Zainsk region, the average salary is 39,500 roubles, which ranks17th in the republic. The poverty rate reached 7.5 per cent at the end of the year. “This means that about 4,000 Zainsk residents have cash incomes below the minimum wage. The task for 2022 is to reduce the poverty rate to the national average of 6 per cent,” Tatarstan Prime Minister said.
He said that large industrial and agricultural enterprises are successfully developing in the region. At the same time, the activities of large enterprises of the city often involve pollution. “The People's Control system receives complaints from citizens about air quality in the city and the region. I know that enterprises are working on the introduction of advanced waste processing technologies and the elimination of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. I ask you to achieve the full implementation of the tasks set in this direction," Pesoshin addressed the leadership of the region.
The Head of Tatarstan Government noted that the Zainsk region is one of the leaders in agriculture and makes a great contribution to the development of the agrarian complex of the republic. At the same time, he outlined a number of pressing issues: the livestock reduction and the insufficient activity in the development of small business forms. Moreover, region lags behind in wages for agricultural workers.
Tatarstan Prime Minister also noted the low share of small and medium-sized businesses in the economy of the region in 2021, which makes only 11.5 per cent of the total volume in the region. It is the 37th place among cities and regions of the republic.
Pesoshin said that the priorities in the social sphere are health issues. In the Zaink region and in the republic in general, the last two years a lot of efforts and funds have been directed to the fight against the coronavirus. In addition, a lot of work has been done to modernize the health system as a whole. Over the last 5 years, the diagnostic building, operating unit and in-patient facility of the Central Regional Hospital, children’s and adult polyclinics, branch of polyclinic №2 have been overhauled and equipped and 8 medical and obstetric centres and 2 outpatient clinics have been built in the region. In 2022, it is planned to build a medical and obstetric centre in the village of Gulkino and to overhaul the Women’s Clinic of the Central Regional Hospital.
Tatarstan Prime Minister also noted that improving the quality of education remains a major task.
“I would like to express gratitude to all residents of Zainsk region for their worthy contribution to the social and economic development of Tatarstan. Your region has all the necessary resources to continue successful economic growth and to improve the quality of life of its citizens,” Pesoshin said.
