Roman Shaykhutdinov is in Uzbekistan as a member of a Tatarstan delegation

On 22 March Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov,   Director of the Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Renat Khalimov, the Mayor of the city of Innopolis Ruslan Shagaleev and the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Tormasov, who arrived on a working visit to Uzbekistan as members of the official delegation of Tatarstan, had a number of meetings with representatives of the receiving party.

At their meeting with the Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov the parties agreed to organize training in digital transformation for more than 30 vice-rectors and the faculty of Uzbekistan universities and to organize joint events in promoting solutions of small innovative companies and start-ups, including those on the IT-platform of the ministry.

At their meeting with Uzbekistan Minister of IT and Communications Sherzod Shermatov representatives of Tatarstan discussed issues of hiring IT specialists for their remote work in Tatarstan and signed an agreement on cooperation between the Astrum IT-Academy and the city of Innopolis. The parties agreed to implement investment and start-up projects in Innopolis and the SEZ Innopolis and to implement the establishment of an IT settlement in Uzbekistan similar to Innopolis.

Later the same day Roman Shaykhutdinov took part in a round table on inter-regional cooperation between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan, the result of which was a Memorandum of Intent signed by the Universities of Innopolis and Inkha(Tashkent) , which envisages the academic cooperation, and a road map within the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Innopolis SEZ and the Integrated Regional Processing Center. The Innopolis University also signed agreements on scientific and technical cooperation with the Uzbekneftegaz Oil and Gas Company and the Sanoat Energetika Guruhi.
