Mintimer Shaimiev: “We have always been friends with Kazakhstan”

On June 16 Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev took part in Tatar national holiday Sabantui in Semey (Kazakhstan) where the holiday is celebrated every year under the auspice of local Mayor’s office. Representatives of all nations living in the region gather at Sabantui celebrations.
Speaking at official opening of the event, Mayor of East Kazakhstan region Berdybek Saparbayev noted that due to policy of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev aimed at unity of all nations the Assembly of Kazakhstan peoples was established.
Mintimer Shaimiev, in his turn, welcomed guests on behalf of Tatarstan President and people saying that Kazakhstan is a multinational state. “We have centuries-long experience of how different nations should live together in harmony, and support each other. Thank you for warm reception. We will not forget it,” he continued.
Mintimer Shaimiev reminded that Sabantui is becoming more and more popular, it is now held in 226 places all over the world. “Semey is a historical land. We have visited museums and memorial places, you have a rich historical heritage that you preserve for future generations,” he said.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
