Briefing about implementation of road works programmes in Tatarstan has been held in the Government House of the republic

On 4 May, speaking at a briefing about implementation of road works programmes in the Tatarstan held in the Government House of the republic, the regional Minister of Transport and Public Road System Farit Khanifov said that more than 46bn roubles have been made in the budget estimates for road works programme in 2022, including 1.25bn from the municipal road fund. He informed that it is planned to build 52.5 km of roads and repair 610.3km.

Giving detailed information about the amount of works to be done, Khanifov said 36 kilometers of the federal M-7 highway, the access roads to the Kazan airport will be reconstructed, the construction detour of Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnyye Chelny with the bridge crossing across the Kama River will start and 113.7km will be repaired.

He also said that it was planned to build access roads to 12 farms and repair 14 garden settlements access roads. 

It is also planned to build 100m of sidewalks along 13 highway sections, which has been approved by the Road Police, Khanifov said.

The Minister also informed that in the current year 101bn roubles will be allocated on construction of M-12 Moscow-Kazan highway including the construction of the bridge across the Volga River, which is 3.6 km long.

He underlined that in autumn and winter the main attention will be given to artificial facilities so that all pipe culverts are mounted properly to prevent washaways.

Khanifov concluded that up to 300 km of regional and local roads are used during the M-12 construction for carrying materials and “the contractors keep these roads in working condition. We have agreed with the ordering customers that in 2024 we will carry out capital overhaul of all these roads”.
