Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maksim Reshetnikov has visited Innopolis

On 19 May Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maksim Reshetnikov visited Innopolis where he was met by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Roman Shaykhutdinov, the regional Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, the Mayor of the City of Innopolis Rustan Shagaleyev and other officials of the republic.

During his stay in the city, Reshetnikov visited the Technical Park after Popov where he got acquainted with the work of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Innopolis and import replacement solutions of its residents. One of them is the Aurora mobile operation system used on laptops during the All-Russia census. 

Director General of the Zone Renat Khalimov informed that today there are 323 residents, partners and startups working in the Zone, 100 of which joined in 2021including the world leader in robotics KUKA, the HUAWEI ITC Company and the first Russian e-commerce company OZON. According to the results of 2021the physical amount of investments of the companies reached 58.9m roubles, the revenues – 113.3m, creating 8 375 jobs. 

The federal minister was also shown new promising projects of the Special economic zone such as Data Processing Center, robotized hotel, an industrial park in Laishevo region and others which will create more than 20 thousand jobs. The ICL IT plant is planning to build a new motherboard surface mounting plant with the initial capacity of 300 thousand motherboards a year with the following growth of up to 1 m pieces. The technological solutions of the plant will also enable production of PCs. Laptops, tablets, servers and data storage systems. 

Maksim Reshetnikov highly appreciated prospects of the SEZ development and competitiveness of its residents and said: “By the assessment of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development based on the amount of investments,  sales and revenues volume and a number of created jobs, the SEZ Innopolis is acknowledged as the most efficient zone among Russian SEZs of R&D type”. 

Later the same day the Russian Minister visited the University of Innopolis and took a ride on an unmanned Yandex taxi cab. The programme of the unmanned taxi was developed by the Ministry together with the Yandex. Testing and is passing its pilot trial in the city.
