Journalists told about work of Tatarstan delegation at St.Petersburg International Economic Forum

Results of work of Tatarstan delegation at St.Petersburg International Economic Forum were presented to journalists at today’s video conference briefing at Tatarstan Government House.
Aide to Tatarstan President on economic issues Airat Khairullin, Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov, Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Lenar Yakupov, and Deputy Minister of Economy Artem Zdunov took part in the event.
Airat Khairullin reminded that within the framework of the forum Rustam Minnikhanov held meetings and negotiations with executives of a number of foreign companies, such as Google, IBM, MasterCard, SAP, Thomson Reuters, ABB, OAO “INTER RAO UES”, Runa Capital. He also met with US Deputy Minister of Trade Francisco Sánchez, State Secretary in the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry of Economic Affairs Günther Horzetzky and Governor of Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov.
As the Chairman of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov held a general meeting with participation of Chairman of State Duma Sergei Naryshkin, Board Chairman of ROSNANO State Corporation Anatoly Chubais.
The Agreement between Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Republic of Tatarstan and Bank of Foreign Economic Activity (Vnesheconombank) on establishing strategic partnership and development of long-term cooperation in the sphere of different investment projects was signed at the meeting. Rustam Minnikhanov was again elected as the Chairman of the Association.
Moreover, the trilateral agreement on promoting the use of natural gas as an engine fuel was signed by Board Chairman of OAO “Gasprom” Aleksei Miller, Director General of OAO “Gasprom gas engine fuel” Viktor Zubkov, and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov told that development of cooperation in the sphere of innovations and digitization were discussed during the meetings. In particular, the issue of opening Cisco accreditation centre and SAP customer competence center is under consideration.
Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Lenar Yakupov, in his turn, told about cooperation with Thomson Reuters.
As for cooperation with foreign investors, participants of the briefing focused on interaction with officials of the North Rhine-Westphalia. In July 2013 Tatarstan delegation is going to visit this region in order to present republic’s economic and industrial potential.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
