Fayaz Shabaev: “47-48% drugs confiscated in Tatarstan Republic are of synthetic origin”

On June 25 at a briefing dedicated to the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (June 26) Chief of Russia’s Federal Agency for Drug Control in Tatarstan Republic Fayaz Shabaev said that about half of drugs confiscated in Tatarstan was of synthetic origin.
The event was traditionally held in a video conference format and broadcasted online. Representatives of all municipal regions took part in the briefing.
Fayaz Shabaev said that according to official statistics 8,5 thousand people in Russia and about 17 thousand in Tatarstan are drug addicts.
According to Fayaz Shabaev, the distribution of new synthetic drugs from China and Europe has a powerful influence on drug abuse situation.
Chief of Russia’s Federal Agency for Drug Control in Tatarstan Republic Fayaz Shabaev said that they do their best to prevent drug abuse and distribution. Thus, in spring 2013 activity of the criminal group that distributed synthetic drugs by Skype was suppressed.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
