On June 14, speaking at the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic at a videoconference with all municipal regions of the republic on holding traditional culture holidays in 2022 under the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Danis Shakirov said that this year, with the support of Tatarstan, 388 Sabantuies will be held in different cities and regions of Russia. The Tatar national holiday will also be organized in other countries of the world, in places with a high concentration of Tatars.

Sabantuy is not only a calendar day in the summer period, it is a systematic work carried out by Tatarstan Ministry of Culture together with the executive committee of the World Tatar Congress. Despite the current situation, Sabantuy is taking place in 35 foreign countries and 58 regions of Russia. It is held in every region with compact residence of Tatars under the auspices of Tatarstan», he said. Shakirov emphasized that representatives of municipal regions of the republic go to Sabantuies, which are held in different regions of the country, with a farmstead and artists to show the national character.

From May to July national holidays such as Tatar folk holiday «Sabantuy», Russian folklore holiday «Karavon», holiday of Chuvash culture «Uyav», Udmurt culture «Gyron bydton», Mordovian culture «Baltai», Slavic culture «Ivan Kupala», Mari culture «Semyk», Kryashenskaya culture «Pitrau» and others are held. The events are aimed at preserving the cultural heritage and further developing the national identity of the peoples of Tatarstan, getting acquaintance with the origins of the folklore festive traditions of children and adolescents, educating them in the culture of inter-ethnic relations.
