Rustam Minnikhanov: We want student sport to take its place in the world

“We want student sport to take its place in the world. Today we underestimate the role and importance of student sport. Young people have different interests, but sport unites them. I am sure that student sport will always be on a high level in Russia and Tatarstan,” Rustam Minnikhanov said at the opening of FISU scientific conference “University and Olympic sport-two models, one goal?” (July 14-17).
The conference opened at the International Information Centre in Universiade Village. Such conferences are traditionally held once in two years within the framework of World Summer Universiade.
FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien, State Secretary, Russian Deputy Minister of Sport Natalia Parshikova, FISU First Vice-President, Head of Russian Student Sports Union Oleg Matytsin, Director General of Russian Olympic Committee Marat Bariev took part in the event.
Welcoming participants of the conference, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Chinese colleagues for experience that was obtained in Shenzhen during preparation for Universiade in Kazan.
Rustam Minnikhanov told about Universiade Village and construction works that were done within five years. “It is a great experience for everyone. Now we have Universiade Village, specialists, it is the best Universiade Village in Russia. All positive moments of the world student sport are realized in our republic and it is promoted through the whole country,” the President said.
Tatarstan President wished success to participants of the conference.

Head of Russian Student Sports Union Oleg Matytsin thanked Tatarstan leadership for implementation of joint projects.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
