Claus Schwab will stay in Tatarstan capital for 2 days. Yesterday he took part in the meeting with business circles of Tatarstan. Today after the ceremony Mr.Schwab delivered a lecture for the students that was entitled “Challenge of future: responsibility of world society”.
Mr.Schwab told to the students about “conception of parties’ interest” that is the basis of his activity, according to his words. It helps to unite business, political and public organizations. He also told about creation of Worldwide economic forum – international nongovernmental organization that is aimed at development of international cooperation.
Mr.Schwab underlined that WEF isn’t occupied with scientific activity, it investigates world risks. According to his words, no state can cope with modern world risks alone. Firstly, it’s provision of stable economic growth and keeping of nature resources
(air resources, biosphere, drinking water, e.t.c.), secondly, decrease of the number of pure citizens in the world. According to statistic data, cited by Mr.Schwab, 1,5 billion people in the world live in poverty, more than 1 billion people live for $ 1 per day. Claus Schwab is sure that poverty causes social tension and we have to fight with such situation. Thirdly, guarantee of safety in the world should decrease world risks. Also states have to share culture values, assist in conciliation of culture differences. “Respect to national variety has to be brought up in the world”, - he said.
Besides, Doctor Schwab considers that the effectiveness of managing institutions is very important, too. He announced that it’s necessary to create a great number of connections, not borders to decrease world risks. These connections will hold nationalism and one-sided approaches to the problem.
Together we have to struggle with nuclear spreading, criminality, terrorism, destruction of groundwater. We have to discuss these problems with businessmen, politicians, citizens. Worldwide economic forum that takes place in Davos (Switzerland) is a great possibility to do it.
Claus Schwab answered the questions of Kazan State University students concerning the history of Worldwide economic forum creation, possibilities of business orientation at social problems, security systems, which would guarantee stability for world society and perspectives in economic sphere for Russia in the nearest future.
