Dmitry Medvedev: "Kazan Universiade was the triumph for Russian sportsmen"

On July 17 Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev accompanied by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Russian Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko met with Russian sportsmen who participated in Universiade. The meeting took place in Universiade Village.
Before that Dmitry Medvedev has visited main restaurant of Universiade Village.
“Our team’s performances were great! The result is fantastic, - 300 medals, of which 150 are gold. You performed in modern conditions, in conditions of real competitions. Universiade is an international event. It is the first Universiade in Russia and we proved that we can organize such events. Our sportsmen demonstrated their best skills. On behalf of all Russian fans let me thank you for what you’ve done,” Dmitry Medvedev said.
Chairman of Russian Government continued that another important result is a great experience of organizing such competitions. “Let me thank Tatarstan and Kazan citizens for perfect organisation. You provided comfortable conditions for training and performances. You set high standards for future major competitions, such as Olympic Games in Sochi, and other mass sport holidays,” he said.
Dmitry Medvedev believes that Kazan experience enables considering an opportunity to host winter Universiade in Russia.
Sportsmen thanked Dmitry Medvedev and Russian Government for holding Universiade on the highest level.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
