RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov: “Potential partners will be interested in Investment projects of Tatarstan presented at Forum “Sochi-2008”
16 September 2008, Tuesday
RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov told today to mass media journalists about the projects which will be presented by Tatarstan at VII international Forum in Sochi (September, 18-21).
Head of RT Government also commented the situation concerning searching of strategic partners for large industrial enterprises of Tatarstan. He considers that many potential partners of Tatarstan will be interested in some investment projects, firstly in petrochemical sphere, which are connected with modern methods of oil exploring, production and refinery.
“We negotiate with “Schell” company about development of natural bitumen; “Chevron” company is also interested in the project. These companies are world leaders in their sphere but today their terms of cooperation are not acceptable for us”,- Rustam Minnikhanov said.
He also considers that there’re some business areas in which we could be competitive purchasing new technologies and investing without attraction of strategic partners. However, strategic partnership of “Kazanorgsintez” JSC with “Gasprom” JSC is necessary for further development of enterprise and provision with raw materials.
Kazan engine plant production association (KMPO) needs strategic partner for production expansion and entering new product market. The same refers to Kazan compressor machine construction plant.
RT Prime Minister pointed out that “Tatneft” JSC is self-sufficient company which has a serious resource and technical base. It has to go beyond republic, diversify its business and expand its presence in other Russian regions and abroad.
Rustam Minnikhanov also announced that the purpose of Tatarstan participation in investment Forum “Sochi-2008” is presentation of investment and innovative projects and commercial offers, regulation of contacts with officials of business society.
Today Tatarstan is recognizable for foreign investors also due to participation in investment Forums (St.Petersburg international economic Forum, investment forum in Sochi).
Head of RT government considers the republic to be one of the most favourable Russian regions for investment. The main factors which stimulate investment flow in Tatarstan economy are stability of legal field and considerable preferences for companies which realize investment projects.
Projects in transport machine construction, building industry, instrument engineering equipment and material production will be presented at Forum besides investment projects in petrochemistry.
The part of Tatarstan exposition at VII international investment Forum in Sochi will be devoted to Universiade-2013.
