On August 7 after his working trip to Muslyumovsky, Aktanyshsky and Menzelinsky regions Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that though weather conditions were not favourable for harvesting, Tatarstan leadership expects successful completion of harvesting campaign.

At his meeting with Menzelinsk farmers Tatarstan President noted that their main task now is to complete harvesting campaign. “For 4 years we have faced unfavourable weather conditions that is why it is important to focus on new drought-resistant winter crops and moisture-saving technologies,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

“We should do our best to provide fodder for cattle”, Tatarstan President stressed.

He said that starting from this year Tatarstan would launch a three-year programme on agricultural equipment modernization. New agricultural machinery will be purchased under the programme.

Speaking about agricultural development in Menzelinsky district, Rustam Minnikhanov asked local farmers to make use of close location to Naberezhny Chelny and extensively sell their products in the city. Tatarstan President also said about a large investment project to be implemented in Menzekinsk that presupposes extensive use of grain and will provide guaranteed market for local farmers.

Rustam Minnikhanov is sure that it is very important to create favourable business environment in regions, because it is not easy to make people stay in a village without providing jobs.
