Rustam Minnikhanov: “We expect successful harvest campaign in spite of rains”

On August 7 after his working trip to Muslyumovsky, Aktanyshsky and Menzelinsky regions Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that though weather conditions were not favourable for harvesting, Tatarstan leadership expects successful completion of harvesting campaign.
At his meeting with Menzelinsk farmers Tatarstan President noted that their main task now is to complete harvesting campaign. “For 4 years we have faced unfavourable weather conditions that is why it is important to focus on new drought-resistant winter crops and moisture-saving technologies,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
“We should do our best to provide fodder for cattle”, Tatarstan President stressed.
He said that starting from this year Tatarstan would launch a three-year programme on agricultural equipment modernization. New agricultural machinery will be purchased under the programme.
Speaking about agricultural development in Menzelinsky district, Rustam Minnikhanov asked local farmers to make use of close location to Naberezhny Chelny and extensively sell their products in the city. Tatarstan President also said about a large investment project to be implemented in Menzekinsk that presupposes extensive use of grain and will provide guaranteed market for local farmers.
Rustam Minnikhanov is sure that it is very important to create favourable business environment in regions, because it is not easy to make people stay in a village without providing jobs.
Visiting Kuzembetyevo township, Minnikhanov looked around production facilities and the product exhibition of the local machinery and repair plant, which produces agricultural equipment, decorative forged items, and performs capital repair of trucks. Last year the plant earned 160 mln roubles.
Speaking about field works, Rustam Minnikhanov said that rains prevent harvesting.
“However, agricultural equipment is ready and we will do our utmost. We should prepare for sowing campaign and other work,” Tatarstan President summarized.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
