Russian-Turkish Public Forum to be held in Kazan in November

On August 16 at their meeting in Kazan Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Board member of Russian-Turkish Public Forum Vladimir Ivanovsky discussed preparation of Russian-Turkish Public Forum that is to be held in Kazan in November.

From January 2007 to July 2013 Vladimir Ivanovsky worked as Ambassador of Russian Federation to Turkish Republic and made substantial contribution to development of Turkish-Tatarstan relations.

Information:

Russian-Turkish Public Forum aims to develop the strategy and main areas of cooperation between two countries. The decision about organization of the forum was made in 2010 when High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council was established. The joint declaration was signed by Dmitry Medvedev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on May 12, 2010.

The Public Forum works in cooperation with High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council and holds sessions in accordance with the Council sessions.

During 2010 preparatory work on defining the membership and main areas of the Forum’s activity was carried out in Russia and Turkey. In January 2011at the first organizational meeting of co-chairmen of the Public Forum Konstantin Kosachev and Saryk Tara in Istanbul the English text of the Memorandum on mutual understanding was approved. Currently preparation for Russian-Turkish Public Forum in Kazan is underway.
