Ildar Khalikov: “Round-the-world bike marathon is one more evidence that Tatarstan athletes can cope with challenging tasks”

On August 21 Tatarstan Prime-Minister Ildar Khalikov met with participants of the round-the-world bike marathon at Tatartsan Government House.

Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism Rafis Burganov took part in the meeting.

To the point, the round-the-world bike marathon was timed to two remarkable events – Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan and 100 anniversary of two-year round-the-world bicycle trip by Kazan citizen Onisim Pankratov.

Welcoming participants of the round-the-world bike marathon, Ildar Khalikov reminded that athletes covered 21,865 km and visited 13 countries.

Ildar Khalikov said that the round-the-world bike marathon was one more evidence that Tatarstan athletes could cope with challenging tasks.

According to Ildar Khalikov, participants of the marathon demonstrated to the whole Russia and world that we have unique athletes and reminded once again of such a remarkable kind of sports as biking.

Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism Rafis Burganov, in his turn, thanked Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for great support to the cyclists.
