On 30 May speaking at a briefing on results of the two-month environmental health campaign in Tatarstan held in the Government House of the republic, the regional First Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Ilnur Gubaydullin said that illegal dumps make nearly 70per cent of 8 000 violations found by ecologists, who imposed more than 2.5 rubles of fines for these dumps.
“Last year the number was practically the same and nearly 90 per cent of dumps were eliminated and this year as a result of regulatory work the Ministry has already raised 90 claims and complaints, 45 of which are the facts of environmental damage for the total amount of 67.7m rubles and the remaining 45 – claims of compulsion to corrective actions,” Ilnur Gubaydullin informed.
Also taking part in the briefing were the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the republic Aleksandr Shadrikov and the Minister of the Forestry of the republic Ravil Kuzyurov.
