X Sports Competitions of OAO “Gazprom” finished in Kazan

On August 23 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Board Chairman of OAO “Gazprom” Alexey Miller took part in the closing ceremony of the X Sports Competitions of OAO “Gazprom” in Kazan.
To the point, traditional competitions of Gazproms’s subsidiaries were held from August 17 to 24 in Kazan. By and large, more than 2500 athletes representing 25 adult and 17 children’s teams from 29 Gazprom’s subsidiaries took part in the competitions.
During the week adult participants competed in volleyball, track and field athletics, swimming, kettlebell lifting, basketball and football. Children’s teams struggled for medals in swimming, track and field athletics, table tennis and football. The athletes competed for 396 medals.
Speaking at the ceremony, Board Chairman of OAO “Gazprom” Alexey Miller noted that this year’s anniversary competitions hit a record on the number of participants. In particular, Alexey Miller welcomed the team of “Gazprom transgaz Belarus” that took part in the competitions for the first time.
He thanked participants of the event for their outstanding and spectacular competitions. “We are proud of your achievements. “Gazprom” contributes significantly to the development of sports movement and we will continue consolidating our traditions of mass sport,” Alexey Miller said. He presented a special award of the Board Chairman of OAO “Gazprom” “For Sports Spirit” to the children’s team of “Gazprom transgaz Ekaterinburg”.
In his speech Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that it was an honour for the republic to hold the sports competitions. “2500 athletes arrived to take part in the event, 8 sports venues were used as well as Universiade village. We made use of our experience gained during the preparation and holding of the sports events,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
“We should learn from Gazprom how to develop mass sport. We are pleased that adults come together with children. It has been a very positive experience,” Rustam Minnikhanov continued. In particular, he thanked Alexey Miller for his attention to the development of the regional economy.
Rustam Minnikhanov presented a special award of Tatarstan President “Newcomers of sports competitions” to the team of “Gazprom transgaz Belarus”.
Director General of OOO “Gazprom transgaz Kazan” Rafkat Kantyukov presented an award “For Will for Voctory” to the team “Gazprom transgaz Surgut”. Honoured guests presented awards to the team event winners of the sports competitions.
As a result of the children’s competitions, the team of “Gazprom transgaz Moscow” was ranked third, the team of “Gazprom transgaz Tomsk” took the second place. The team of “Gazprom transgaz Yugorsk” won the first place in the team event.
The adult team of “Gazprom transgaz Moscow” won bronze, the team of “Gazprom transgaz Ekaterinburg” is the silver medalist. The team of “Gazprom transgaz Yugorsk” won the adult and children’s sports competitions.
At the end of the ceremony, the flag of the event was lowered and Alexey Miller announced the competitions closed.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
