The Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan and the title “Honoured citizen of Kazan city” presented to Igor Shuvalov

On September 2 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin presented awards to First Vice-Premier of Russia Igor Shuvalov at Kazan City Hall.
Opening the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said that 2013 was a special year for Kazan. “The World Summer Student Games were very important for our country. We could host Universiade due to support of Russian President Vladimir Putin and First Vice-Premier of Russia Igor Shuvalov,” he said.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that 64 modern multi-purpose objects were used at the Games. Kazan transport and medical infrastructures were modernized during preparation for Universiade.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked everyone who took part in preparation and holding of Universiade, especially Russian President Vladimir Putin and First Vice-Premier of Russia Igor Shuvalov.
Tatarstan President presented the Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan for considerable contribution to organization of World Summer Universiade, and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin - the title “Honoured citizen of Kazan city” to Igor Shuvalov.
Ilsur Metshin said that such decision was made by deputies at a session of Kazan City Duma because of considerable contribution of Igor Shuvalov to social and economic development of Kazan, promotion of Kazan and Tatarstan on the international level.
From 2009 Igor Shuvalov headed Universiade organizing committee, and currently coordinates organisation of the World Football Cup 2018 in Russia.
Igor Shuvalov thanked Tatarstan leadership and first Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev for presented awards. He also wished Tatarstan President and Mayor of Kazan to keep up the same high level.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
