Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Swiss business delegation led by Head of Franco-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guy Mettan

On September 5 at his meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov Head of Franco-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan Guy Mettan said that Tatarstan and Switzerland have big cooperation potential.
To the point, the Swiss business delegation led by Mr Guy Mettan is on a two-day visit in Tatarstan.
Welcoming guests, Rustam Minnikhanov said that arrangements on preparation of this visit were reached last year during the visit of Tatarstan delegation to Geneva. He noted that Tatarstan economy focuses on export and the WTO opens new markets for the republic. Switzerland has always been a major trade partner for Tatarstan and in spite of decrease in trade turnover cooperation should be developing.
Rustam Minnikhanov informed that there are 47 companies working in the republic with the use of Swiss capital. In particular, Swiss companies work with KAMAZ, god relations were established with Dupont company.
Among prospective areas of joint cooperation Rustam Minnikhanov pointed out industrial modernization, energy, high technologies, medicine, banking services.
Mr Guy Mettan thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for organization of the visit of Swiss businessmen to Tatarstan and an interesting programme. He said that Swiss businessmen are willing to study Tatarstan potential and establish business contacts.
Mr Guy Mettan continued that presence of developed higher educational institutions and research infrastructure favour development of relationships. He thanked the Economic Envoy of the Republic of Tatarstan in Switzerland Guzel Salikhova and Swiss Embassy in Russia for organization of the visit.
Members of Swiss delegation presented prospective areas of cooperation in the sphere of innovations, financial and banking spheres, automotive industry, medicine, consulting, and culture to Rustam Minnikhanov.
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
