Adel Vafin appointed new Tatarstan Minister of Health

On September 11 Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov introduced new Minister of Health Adel Vafin to the staff.
The former Minister of Health Airat Farrakhov was appointed Russian Deputy Minister of Health last week. The decree on his appointment to the post was signed by Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev.
Ildar Khalikov thanked Airat Farrakhov for work and presented the minister’s portfolio to Adel Vafin.

Adel Vafin was born on November 4, 1973.
In 1997 he graduated from Kazan State Medical University with specialization in general medicine, in 2000 completed MA course at Histology Department, and the Faculty of Economics at Presidential Academy of Public and Municipal Administration. 2001 – 2007 – regional manager at OOO “Dräger medical technologies” In August - December 2007 – Chairman of permanent commission on social and economic development and municipal property at Kazan City Duma. From 2007 – First Deputy Minister of Health Married, has four sons. Professional skills: mastered modern experimental methods of screening of medicines, introduced modern methods of anaesthesia, reanimation, and intensive treatment at medical institutions; participated in implementation of the programme “Modernization of Health Care Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan”. In October 2005 was elected deputy of a representative body of Kazan municipality. Adel Vafin is a member of permanent commissions on ecology and health care, social-economic development, and municipal property. In August 2007 at a XIX session of Kazan Duma was elected Chairman of permanent commissions on social-economic development and municipal property of Kazan City Duma. From November 2003 - a member of political party “United Russia”.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
