New Ice Palace opened in Vysokaya Gora township

On September 12 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in solemn opening of new ice palace in Vysokaya Gora township.

The new ice palace was built under the programme of the United Russia party. The construction costs made 220 mln roubles allocated by the party and  regional budget on co-financing terms.

The masters of figure skating of Tatartsan team and artists performed at the opening ceremony. Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed dwellers of the township.

“I am pleased that today we are opening the ice palace that is much needed in the township. This is the 38th palace in Tatarstan. We have developed the system for preparation of hockey players and figure skaters and I hope that future champions are here with us now,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President presented the certificate for 100 thousand roubles to purchase sports equipment to the director of the ice palace.

The honoured Russian coach Gennady Maslov made the first symbolic face-off on the new ice. The opening match between children’s hockey teams was played afterwards.
