Rustam Minnikhanov arrives in Boston with a working visit

On September 15 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in Boston with a working visit to take part in Russian Innovation Week, RIW.
The event is held for the second time in order to demonstrate the potential of Russian innovative industry, help Russian investors and venture funds to establish contacts with American partners.
Representatives of Russian and American state agencies, heads of major businesses, venture investors and entrepreneurs will take part in Russian Innovation Week this year. The event is organized by Russian development institutes – OAO “Russian venture company”, OAO “Rosnano” and Skolkovo Fund.
Within the framework of RIW Rustam Minnikhanov will take part in a plenary session and panel discussion “New horizons of Russia: providing new opportunities for competence at global markets”, hold several meetings and negotiations.
In particular, he will meet with Minister of Housing and Economic Development Gregory Bialecki (Massachusetts), Rector of Carnegie Mellon University Mark Kamlet, Senior partner of Runa Capitals fund, Chairman of Parallels Board Sergey Belousov, and English First officials.
Rustam Minnikhanov will also visit IPG Photonics, get familiar with activity of Massachusetts Technology Institute and Centre of quantum physics of Harvard university.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
On 1 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in N.I. Lobachevsky Prize and Medal Award Ceremony held in Kazan Federal University and handed in the award to the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Researcher of the St. Petersburg Department of Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Ivanov who was awarded for the outstanding achievements in fundamental and applied mathematics.
