On September 16 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited IPG Photonics (Massachusetts, USA).
To the point, Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in Boston with a working visit to take part in Russian Innovation Week, RIW.
Chairman of IPG Photonics Board of Directors Valentin Gapontsev made a short presentation of the company and told about its foundation and world laser market promotion.
The company was founded in 1990 by a group of Russian scholars led by Valentin Gapontsev. Today it is a transnational scientific and technical corporation with offices in 12 countries, including Japan, South Korea, India, France, Singapore and Great Britain. Its production facilities are located in the USA (Oxford), Germany (Frankfurt) and Russia (Fryazino).
Valentin Gapontsev said that the company is engaged in development, production and sales of laser equipment. IPG Photonics has become a public limited company since 2006 with capitalization of more than 2 bln USD.
According to Valentin Gapontsev, today IPG Photonics is the leading company in the sphere of laser technologies, covering up to 80% of the world fiber laser market and up to 20 of the world laser market in general.
The range of laser fibers produced by the company makes 300 items.
Laser equipment is used in different industries, including air industry, engineering, medicine, telecommunication sphere, etc.
In particular, IPG Photonics laser technologies are applied at OAO “KAMAZ”.
Later, Valentin Gapontsev showed Rustam Minnikhanov and his party production and assembly facilities and one of the advanced laser machines in operation.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
