Rustam Minnikhanov: Mutually beneficial integration of knowledge of leading world countries has become open and accessible

On September 17 at the 2nd annual conference Russian Innovation Week in Boston (Massachusetts) Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We live in the age of rapid development of information and intellectual technologies, active adoption of nano materials and high-tech polymers, and formation of a single knowledge platform and exchange of experience is a key task of development.”
The main purpose of the forum is to demonstrate potential of Russian innovative industry, help Russian investors and venture funds to establish contacts with American partners, and Russian technological companies to get access to capital sources.
Representatives of Russian and American authorities, heads of big businesses, venture investors and entrepreneurs in the sphere of technologies taking part in the event. The forum is organized by OAO “Russian Venture Company”, OAO Rosnano and Skolkovo Fund.
Legal support of intellectual property, creation of innovative infrastructure, prospects of cooperation in the sphere of energy, biotechnologies, IT, robotics, and telecommunications are on the agenda.
Welcoming guests of Russian Innovation Week, Rustam Minnikhanov said that there was a unique opportunity to study experience of Massachusetts, one of the most successful and advanced regions in USA. He continued that Massachusetts is a state with high level of economic development, and the leader in the sphere of science and innovations.
Tatarstan President noted that in Russia much emphasis is placed on economic modernization and adoption of innovations.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, in 2012-2013 the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia activated cooperation with foreign partners in the sphere of innovations.
In April 2013 several documents were signed between the Association and Netherlands innovative companies in Amsterdam. In February 2013 a number of documents on cooperation intentions were signed between the Republic of Tatarstan and regional Council of Provence- Alpes- Cote d'-Azur (French Republic) on establishing partnership relations.
Summing up, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Today mutually beneficial integration of knowledge of leading world countries has become open and accessible. It undoubtedly will help to improve quality of life and favour economic development. We are open to long-term fruitful cooperation. Members of Tatarstan delegation are happy to discuss various forms of cooperation and joint projects. I am sure that results of meeting in Boston will contribute to development of relations between Russia and USA.”
On 31 January, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Damir Shaydullin reported that capital overhaul of nine school in eight municipalities of the republic has started.
On 28 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an extended joint meeting of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan and a collegium of the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disaster Response of the republic which summarized results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and set tasks for 2026.
In his keyword report the Head of the Main Directorate Irek Kadamov informed that there were 3 758 man-caused fires in the republic which killed 128 people and injured 177. Through joint efforts, we have managed to reduce the number of man-caused fires by more than 10%, the number of injured by 12 per cent, however the number of killed increased by 13 people, he said.
On 28 January at a ceremony held as a part of a meeting summarizing results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and setting tasks for 2026, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Head of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan Irek Kadamov handed in keys for 24 new fire and rescue vehicles purchased at the expense of the regional budget to units of the Directorate and Tatarstan Emergencies Ministry.
On 27 January, speaking at an extended meeting of the Tatarstan Prosecutor’s Office which summarized results of work of the Office for 2025 and set tasks for strengthening law and order in 2026 and which was held with participation of Russian Deputy General Prosecutor Nikoly Shishkin and the Chief Federal Inspector for the republic Viktor Demidov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin thanked employees of the Office for good work and high professionalism.
